2007 - A year like no other ?
So, my readers, 2007 is drawing to a close. And so slowly, it is time to dare to look back. What was going on musically for?
A, I find it very important, if not the most important music event was without question the album "In Rainbows" by Radiohead or how it was marketed. We remember: Radiohead featured her, incidentally, very good, album to download. The inclined downloaders could determine the price, he wanted to pay, himself (I have myself, since I do not have a credit card, unfortunately, have to type "0 €"). The media response was huge ... and now the marketing strategy has indeed already started to find imitators (eg, plans to publish the punk rock band Pennywise her next album in spring 2008 in a similar manner).
2007 was also the year of the great band re-unions. In particular, the Re-Union of Led Zeppelin is very interesting (if there is a tour is still questionable, but if there is one: I'm there when the tickets are not too expensive). Other great reunions were: Smashing Pumpkins, The Verve , Rage Against The Machine , Dinosaur Jr., The Jesus and Mary Chain , My Bloody Valentine ... In blur and Libertines is not yet clear what will happen, but it looks good. Resolutions were
it but unfortunately some. Which I think was the saddest of Blumfeld in the spring, especially since I, unfortunately, for any more cards his farewell tour got. Too bad I found the Blood Brothers , especially since I have also met this band until this year.
What I also noticed this year is something you can call such as "increasing commercialization of Indie". It observed true on several occasions that indie and underground bands were considerably Formerly much radio airplay. The best examples are there of course Peter, Bjorn and John with "Young Folks", the Kaiser Chiefs with "Ruby" and with Razorlight "America". Also exchanged a number of indie bands (sometimes forcibly) to major labels. In addition, increasingly is a death of indie labels observed (A consequence of this is of course the previous point). In addition, as early as 2006, a hell of a lot indie music written in the tabloids, namely, how could it be otherwise, Pete Doherty .
now follows a small, personal Jahrespoll:
Album of the Year: Tocotronic - surrender

biggest musical disappointment
album "Black and White Album" by the Hives, e s are indeed some good songs, but by the "mainstream producer number one Timbaland-produced songs are just plain embarrassing and bad
boring concert:
Sick Of It All on the Rhine Cultural Festival in Bonn (have me worked totally arrogant and conceited, the singer screamed the whole time just calls into the audience, as it had pogo to as please; audience suggests and does (of course, that's normal for Hardcore, I like it but not at all). .. in hindsight I would have preferred to the Fantastic Four on the main stage)
personal, musical discoveries (read: "What do I have this Years for me personally discovered "):
- the" Hamburg School "Band Huah
- the Brit-pop bands Suede and Pulp
- various solo singers, especially from the! "non-rock" area ( Kate Nash, Amy Winehouse, MIA, ... )
- Ska old (especially the Specials )
Now the question is still: What will happen to 2008? For example, there are quite a lot of interesting albums announcements (eg, The Kooks, Kettcar, Olli Schulz der Hund Marie, Jack Johnson, The Breeders, Weezer, Oasis, Adam Green, ...)
But who knows? what is going to happen ... Well wait a
happy you all and see you next year, until then I'm concerned no longer intend to write something
