"So Give Me Coffee And TV, Easily" - blur
Hello dear readers,
first time a happy new year
First, in this year I will write about a band that I hear quite a while, these are the English band Blur.
blur're together with Oasis, the Brit-pop band in general. However, they were based, unlike those in 1989, so quite a bit before the big Brit-pop wave of the early to mid 90's. They are also very varied: the first albums are from the so-called "Madchester" scene influenced (Madchester: Scene in and around the northern English city of Manchester late 80s, bear a mix of indie rock and electronic dance music), the then the following albums are classic Brit-Pop, the latest albums then fit into any style of music anymore.
released their first album in 1991, followed by another 6 more albums, usually at intervals of one to two years. During the recordings of the last album "Think Tank "(2003) fell out the band and guitarist Graham Coxon left the band. The band was then long-term contract as no longer existent. However, the members have now again in August 2007 and went into the studio together again (even if it an album produced remains to be seen).
with the band Oasis is a real gang war, but which is now almost exclusively performed by Oasis. The most glaring was that the guitarist of Oasis, Noel Gallagher and Blur said "The guitar is very ok, but the bass player and singer will die of AIDS ".
What worth mentioning is that the singer of the band, Damon Albarn, seemingly no time without music can spend. He released several solo albums and soundtrack contributions, is the man behind the "cartoon band" Gorillaz and plays since the end of 2006, together with members of The Verve, The Clash in the band The Good, The Bad And The Queen.
recommendations:
For starters, the best best-of album, but you still bought all the albums the band has earned ;-)
